Paws for Responsibility... was formed in 1989, as a non-profit 501 (3)(c) Colorado Corporation, to promote the safety of children around animals. In our Responsible Pet Ownership program, we teach practical safety rules that are easy to follow, along with teaching respect and responsible pet ownership, thus helping prevent harmful encounters between children and animals.


In our Pawsitive Reading program
, we use therapy animals to address literacy concerns by providing positive and effective means for overcoming learning obstacles, and building self-esteem in these children.

Performing Palz (the “Palz”) began in the 80’s with two canine actors: Tora (Akita) and Mocha (American Cocker Spaniel). The name “Palz” came from the owner’s names, “Pat” and “Liz”.
